When I'm not riding: |
I like to spend time with family, relax and catch up on latest movies. |
The three most important things I've learned as an adult from my experience in showing horse:
|
-
Believe in yourself.
-
Don't be afraid to "show up" in life. If you begin to dream it, you will live the dream.
-
Just knowing what you are really capable of achieving. (Wow, I did that.)
|
From a parent's perspective the three most important things my child has gained from showing horses are:
|
-
Total "awareness" of commitment - what it means to work hard, play hard, push yourself
-
Teamwork - work as a team, play as a team, cry, laugh, win or lose. Your teammates are a constant.
-
Knowledge of the lessons in life - nothing is for sure, everything takes time, life happens .

My World Show Experience
As a participant, I experience the feeling of "here and now." This is it. How much can you focus on the moment. All of it. |
My World Show Experience as a Parent
As a parent, you turn very protective of your child's life lessons they are about to receive. You are nervous, excited, proud and prejudiced!

How I felt the first time I won a Championship
My first win was a "surreal" feelings. I still think they picked the best of the worst. Well, maybe now I can say "Yes, I did okay!"

How I felt the first time my child won a Championship
There is no other emotion to compare with regard to you child's joy, surprise, and confidence. They walk a little taller for many years to come…
