The three most important things I've learned in life from my experience with showing horses
|
-
Making sacrifices - Being a social teenager, it has sometimes been a personal battle choosing between hanging with friends and going to practice. Competing with the team made those decisions easier as I had made a commitment I knew what was more important to me.
- True Sense of Hard Work - Being with Sarah and the program for 12 years has given me a true sense of hard work. I value what I have accomplished and think that hard work is something my generation does not usually experience. Knowing what I have done and what I can do because of it has built my confidence level, too.
-
Compassion - The Capstone program has taught me compassion, not only for the amazing horses that carry us through it all, but for the millions of girls and boys who can only dream of doing what I am able to participate in. I thank God for blessing me with this opportunity.

My Youth World Show experience
Worlds is an amazing experience. To acknowledge you are competing at the world level with other people also honored for their accomplishments and talent is a great feeling.
Competing is nerve-wracking yet fulfilling. And meeting new people who have also sacrificed what you have to get there is reassuring. It is just amazing to become a part of this supportive community.

How I felt the first time I won a Championship
It had been a long time coming for me and we had been through some ups and downs. I finally found a great horse and my win was unbelievable. I had never cried that hard in my life. All my hard work paid off and it truly is an indescribable feeling.
