Horseback Riding Lessons & Equestrian Summer Camps
We offer horseback riding lessons for all ages and levels in Western and English disciplines.
Our beginning horseback riding lessons allow children (and their parents) to find out if horsemanship is something that they want to pursue seriously. They will learn how to groom and tack a horse and how to ride in Western or English disciplines. They will increase their balance and coordination and gain self confidence. Horse and tack are provided.
Advanced riders generally own or lease a horse and join our equestrian team. Private horseback riding lessons focus on individual skill development and problem solving techniques. We train the riders to be aware of their horse and ways to achieve the desired movement from their horse. We are teaching more than just how to ride; we are teaching riders how to train.
The following series of Solutions-Based-Thinking questions is commonly used:
- What is your horse doing wrong? (What is the problem?)
- What do you want him to do? (What is the desired result?)
- How can you get him to do what you want? (How can you achieve that?)
Develop Maturity and Confidence!
"We had no understanding of the sport before we went to our first show. Wow! Not only were the exhibitors demonstrating their riding skills, but they showed incredible "presence" and self confidence -- and were obviously have a lot of fun, too. To our daughter, this looked like a great way to have fun. To us, we saw kids with maturity far beyond their age."

An Instructor who is Talented with Children
"When we first met Sarah, we were just looking for a place for our horse-crazy daughter to learn to ride. Sarah was able to make an immediate connection, and used just the right mix of challenge and encouragement to get results. We had tried other barns, but they didn't do well with younger children."
